I like their taxi cab yellow paint jobs. Wonder why they were kept long enough to grow plants and not sent for scrap.

A car used for testing can never be sold or parted into consumer production/use. They either keep it somewhere or destroy it completely.
There are cases where they give them to schools and stuff, but even then, once that car's number is up, it heads to the smelter.
